Film makers eye Elstree, as new studios set to open in 2022

More High end drama on target for 2022 at Elstree Studios

Elstree Studios is currently expanding with the development of 2 new Sound Stages, which will open for bookings in 2022. These new state-of-the art stages, will be ideal for High-End Drama production.

In its 95 year history, Elstree Studios has been the studio of choice for many legendary producers and directors from Alfred Hitchcock, George Lucas, Steven Spielberg and Stanley Kubrick to Danny Boyle, Tom Hooper and Guy Ritchie. As the birthplace of the ‘Star Wars’ and ‘Indiana Jones’ trilogies, some of the world’s most famous films have been produced at Elstree over the years including: ‘Moby Dick’, ‘The Dam Busters’, ‘The Shining’ and more recently ‘The Danish Girl’, ‘Paddington’, ‘Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows’, ‘The Worlds End’ and multi-award-winning ‘The King’s Speech’.

Providing over 60,000sq ft. of filming space, Elstree Studios offers 7 Sound Stages ranging from 3,844sq ft. to 15,770sq ft. and up to 50ft in height as well as a spacious backlot.


Elstree also offers extensive production offices, workshops, dressing rooms, wardrobe and makeup rooms, rehearsal rooms, on site catering and car parking. With 24 hour, 7 days a week manned security, together with a comprehensive CCTV camera network, the studios are specifically designed to give you total peace of mind during your stay.
